The New Climate

As much as I am completely over the Arizona heat, I'm not sure I knew what I was getting into moving out to the Midwest.

The last time I plan on coming here

In my quest to go see an NFL game at every stadium,  I made the drive up to Cleveland to go see the Browns. Due to the stadium being right next to one of the great lakes,  I was absolutely miserable with how cold I was. On top of that the fans at this stadium were the most obnoxious people I have ever crossed paths with.  Usually I can find some form of beauty within a city,  but I don't really ever see myself coming back here.

The next adventure

So after spending less than two months living in Indianapolis,  I got the news that I was getting my own store.  Seeing as this was the dream I had been chasing for the last 12 years I was super excited, but at the same time I started to get the feeling off being overwhelmed.

For starters my new store was in Columbus,  Ohio.  I am horrible with geography, I was well aware that Ohio was directly east of the state I was currently calling home,  but beyond that I had to rely on Google to steer me to my new destination.  On top of that I had just set up everything at my last apartment.  Upon hearing the good news I had barely unpacked the last of my boxes from my previous transition.

The icing on the cake was that I started the next day.  Right after work two other managers took me out to celebrate,  have me as many pointers as they could fit in between beers and wished me luck.  Other than that,  I had absolutely no clue how to transition into my new role.  I went home,  packed what I thought I may need for the next week and when the sun came up,  I started the trek.

The First Holiday Away From Home

So this year has flown by.  Today is already Thanksgiving!  Due to the fact that I wasn't able to fly home and be with my family for the holiday, I was going to drive up to Detroit and see an NFL game there but I couldn't get any good tickets on Ebay, so that fell through.  The family of one of the other managers up here had signed up to run a 5K race today, so I tagged along.  This was the first real exercise that I have gotten since I have been up here and oddly enough I miss running.  I ended up going over and had Thanksgiving dinner with them and watched some of the NFL games over there.  Once again, I am really surprised with how friendly and welcoming everyone has been up here!

The Boys Night Out

Had the day off today, so instead of being productive, I spent the day trying to organize the thousands of photos that I have jumbled around my hard drive.  Finally by the afternoon, I wrestled up enough motivation to mess around with my camera and tried to create another "Self-Portrait."  Then went and met up with some of the guys from work for poker night.  Three more nights until Thanksgiving... came up quick this year!

The Country

One of the best parts about being up here is how much land there is.  If you wanted to go shooting in Arizona you would have to drive out and find a vacant area out in the desert, apparently up here you can just go out to your backyard.

I don't think I will ever grow up!
